Beef Curry
from Cookie
Ingredients
- 1 kgbeef
- 1 1/2 tbspvinegar
- to tastesalt
- 2onions, sliced
- 1 1/2 tbspgarlic paste
- 1 tbspginger paste
- about 1 cupwater
- to tastetamarind water
- 2green chillies, slit
- as neededpotatoes
- for cookingoil
Masala (grind together)
- 1 tspjeera (cumin)
- 1 tspturmeric
- 2 tspcoriander seeds
- 1 tspblack peppercorns
- 6cloves
- 1 inchcinnamon
Instructions
- Apply salt and vinegar to the beef and keep aside for about 1/2 hour.
- Heat oil and fry the onions with the ginger and garlic pastes until the raw smell goes away.
- Add the ground masala and fry for 3 to 4 minutes.
- Add the meat and about 1 cup of water; pressure cook for about 25 minutes.
- Once the cooker is open, add tamarind water and 2 slit green chillies.
- Add the potatoes and cook for a further 10 minutes.
