Wattan Usal

Ingredients

  • to tastegreen wattan (dried peas), soaked
  • 1onion
  • a littlebottle masala
  • to tastesalt
  • ~4 cupswater
  • to tastetamarind juice

Masala (to grind)

  • 1 pcfresh coconut
  • 2green chillies
  • to tasteginger
  • to tastegarlic
  • a littlecoriander

Instructions

  1. Soak the green wattan.
  2. Grind 1 pc fresh coconut, 2 green chillies, ginger, garlic and a little coriander.
  3. Baghar 1 onion, add the ground masala and a little bottle masala.
  4. Add the wattan, salt to taste, and about 4 cups of water.
  5. Pressure cook for 5 to 8 minutes.
  6. Add tamarind juice.
