Ingredients
- 3/4 kgfish
- 1 1/2lemon juice
- 1 1/2 tspsalt
- 1 1/2 tspchilli powder
- 1/2 tspamchoor (dry mango powder)
- a pinchnutmeg
For batter
- 8 tbspgram flour
- 8 to 10 tbspwater
- 1 tspsalt
- 1green chilli
- 1 pcginger, ground
- 1/2 tspajwain (thymol seeds)
Instructions
- Clean and cut the fish, sprinkle with lime juice.
- Apply the dry ingredients over the fish and set aside.
- Gradually add water to the gram flour, beating well, then add salt, green chillies, ginger paste and ajwain. Set aside for 1/2 hour.
- Heat oil, dip the fish in the batter and fry in oil.
- Serve with lime and chutney.
