Amritsari Fried Fish to review

Ingredients

  • 3/4 kgfish
  • 1 1/2lemon juice
  • 1 1/2 tspsalt
  • 1 1/2 tspchilli powder
  • 1/2 tspamchoor (dry mango powder)
  • a pinchnutmeg

For batter

  • 8 tbspgram flour
  • 8 to 10 tbspwater
  • 1 tspsalt
  • 1green chilli
  • 1 pcginger, ground
  • 1/2 tspajwain (thymol seeds)

Instructions

  1. Clean and cut the fish, sprinkle with lime juice.
  2. Apply the dry ingredients over the fish and set aside.
  3. Gradually add water to the gram flour, beating well, then add salt, green chillies, ginger paste and ajwain. Set aside for 1/2 hour.
  4. Heat oil, dip the fish in the batter and fry in oil.
  5. Serve with lime and chutney.
